GitProtect 1.9.5
🆕 NEW FEATURES
Jira assets
We’re introducing a highly requested feature for users backing up Jira with GitProtect — the ability to back up and restore Jira assets. Assets include all types of resources managed within Jira Service Management (JSM), such as:
Services (billing, email, payroll)
Hardware and software (servers, computers, phones, licenses)
Employees
Departments
Server components
In the Additional data section of your Jira backup plan, you can now enable assets backup (disabled by default). Restores are available in both disaster recovery and granular modes, with original IDs preserved. This solution is unique in the market.
🔨 IMPROVEMENTS
Jira Forge app
Our Jira application now runs as a Forge app, providing native integration, improved performance, and an interface aligned with the Atlassian platform.
Disabling forever incremental for Jira copies
Because Jira backups are complex and resource-intensive, the forever incremental scheme is disabled for newly created plans. Existing plans remain unaffected.
GitHub App — using InstallationToken instead of UserToken
A new authorization mechanism using InstallationToken has been implemented, enhancing the stability of GitHub organization integration with GitProtect.
GitHub — better information about lack of permissions
Backup now displays clearer messages when repository permissions are missing.
Optimization of GitLab backup and restore
Backup and restore performance have been significantly optimized through reduced API calls and parallel operations. An issue affecting milestone backups has also been resolved.
Warning about restoring a repository larger than 2GB
Before restoring, repository size is now checked, and a warning is displayed if it exceeds 2 GB, consistent with limits set by most Git providers.
Azure DevOps — excluding the main account from the backup task
An option has been added to exclude the main account from backup, helping to conserve API usage.
🐛 BUGFIXES
Restore repository with LFS to a local device
Restoring LFS repositories directly to a device has been fixed.
Azure DevOps — backup pull request with abandoned status
Support for the abandoned status in Azure DevOps pull requests has been added.
Azure DevOps — backup of large repositories
Backup performance for large repositories has been optimized.
