# "DW5205: Found \[x] corrupted attachments" error

How to fix the backup error related to corrupted attachments.

### ⚠️ Issue

**Jira** or **Confluence** backup task ends with a **"DW5205: Found \[x] corrupted attachments"** error.

### 💡 Cause

This error can occur due to corrupted attachments, orphaned references, items in the trash, or missing permissions.

### 🔧 Resolution

To fix this issue:

1. Verify that your **Atlassian** account permissions allow you to view all spaces. If they don’t, adjust your permissions accordingly.
2. Make sure that the account used to synchronize **Jira**/**Confluence** with **GitProtect** has the required permissions to access and download the attachments.
3. Turn on the **Ignore corrupted Jira/Confluence attachments** option in the target backup plan settings to exclude faulty elements from the backup (**Advanced settings** > **Edit** > **Error handling**).
4. If you are using a sandbox environment, make sure that you allowed attachments to be copied during the sandbox creation process.
