# Disabling rate limiting in Bitbucket DC

This article provides instructions on how to disable rate limitations in Bitbucket Data Center, which can improve backup performance and avoid throttling.

To disable rate limiting, open the **Bitbucket Data Center** panel, click **Administration**, and select **Rate limiting** from the **System** section. Set the status to **Off** and click **Save**.
