Compliance

This article explains what the compliance section is, how to interpret it, and how to meet its requirements.

Overview

The compliance tile displays a short summary of the dashboard—it provides a quick overview of the security and reliability of your backup environment, summarizing key aspects such as resource protection, SLA compliance, encryption, replication, and system notifications. Each element helps verify whether backups are properly configured and maintained, ensuring that your environment meets the defined GitProtect standards.

Compliance conditions

Fulfilling all compliance conditions is a bit complex, as each item can have one of three statuses: OK (✅), warning (⚠️), or error (❌). Depending on the status, the condition may be fully met, generate a warning, or report an error indicating that the condition is not met.

Protection of all resources

Protection of all resources confirms whether all resources have backup plans created.

✅ If you include all resources added to GitProtect in backup plans, the condition is considered met.

⚠️ If not all resources are secured, but at least 90% are included in backup plans, the condition is met with a warning.

❌ If you secure less than 90% of resources, the condition is not met.

SLA from last 24h

SLA from the last 24 hours indicates whether all backup plans have been executed at least once within the past 24 hours.

✅ If all plans have been successfully executed in the last 24 hours, the condition is met.

⚠️ If not all plans have been successfully executed, but at least 90% or resources have been secured, the condition is met with a warning.

❌ If less than 90% of resources have been successfully secured, the condition is not met.

Encryption

Encryption confirms whether all backup plans are encrypted.

✅ If all backup plans have encryption enabled, the condition is met.

^⚠️ If not all plans, but at least 90% have encryption enabled, the condition is met with a warning.

❌ If less than 90% of plans have encryption enabled, the condition is not met.

Replication

Replication shows whether a data replication plan is configured.

✅ If replication is configured, the condition is met.

⚠️ If replication is not configured but you have more than one datastore, the condition is met with a warning.

❌ If replication is not configured and you have only one datastore, the condition is not met.

Notifications and reports

Notifications and reports confirms whether system notifications are enabled.

✅ If you have backup summary reports (Slack, email, or webhook) and daily reports enabled, the condition is met.

⚠️ If you have only daily reports or only backup summaries enabled, the condition is met with a warning.

❌ If no notifications are configured, the condition is not met.
